Chapter 6: The Unlikely Ally
Jack drove through the night toward Seattle, stopping at a small diner near the docks. He made a call from a prepaid burner phone to Sarah Vance, an investigative journalist who had been fired three years ago from a major newspaper after attempting to publish an exposure piece on high-end private youth retreats.
An hour later, Sarah slipped into the booth across from Jack, her sharp eyes scanning the documents he pushed toward her.

Sarah looked at Lily, who was fast asleep in the booth beside Jack, clutching a stuffed bear he had bought her at a truck stop. ""If we release this on the internet, they'll scrub it in minutes. We need to hit them where they can't suppress it.""
