Chapter 4: Unlocking the Truth

While Lily slept safely under three heavy quilts, Jack spread the stolen documents across the kitchen counter. Among the paper records, he found a small, encrypted USB flash drive tucked into the spine of a leather binder.

Jack opened his laptop and plugged in the drive. After trying several combinations of dates, he typed in his late father’s birthday. The folder opened.

Inside were video logs spanning decades. Jack clicked on the oldest file, dated 1998. The screen flickered to life, showing a young Eleanor standing in a stark white room, speaking directly into the camera.

""Human emotion in youth is a flaw—a chaotic variable that creates weak adults,"" Eleanor’s calm, clinical voice boomed through the laptop speakers. ""By systematically stripping away emotional expression through controlled sensory deprivation, we can engineer absolute resilience.""

Jack felt sick. It was a factory of emotional trauma disguised as high-level behavioral science. And the latest folder on the drive was titled Project Generation 3: Lily.
