Chapter 4: A Quiet Warning

Marcus turned and walked toward the black sedan. He knocked gently on the tinted window. The driver slowly rolled it down just an inch, his voice trembling slightly behind the glass. ""This is a public street, Carter. You can't intimidate me."" Marcus leaned in slightly, his tone barely above a whisper, yet carrying immense weight. ""You brought fear to a child’s neighborhood today, Harrison. That was a mistake. Go back to your boardrooms. Leave my family alone."" Without waiting for a response, Marcus tapped the roof of the car twice. The SUVs parted, leaving a clear path for Harrison to drive away into the evening light.
