Chapter 11: Standing for Others
Marcus looked at the documents, then at Liam, who was watching from the doorway. He realized that running away from his past had kept his son safe for a while, but standing up for what was right would teach his son how to live. ""I won't let him turn those neighborhoods into commercial lots,"" Marcus said quietly. ""We'll go to the city hall meeting tomorrow. Not with force, but with the truth."" Liam smiled faintly from the porch, feeling a deep surge of admiration for his father's quiet resolve.
