Lily giggled, her bright blue eyes crinkling at the corners. "Even the lopsided cookies?"
"Especially the lopsided cookies," Julian laughed, standing up and taking Clara’s hand in his free one.
Clara leaned her head against his shoulder as they watched Lily skip back toward the craft table to pack up her remaining art supplies. The Vachel ballroom around them was quiet now, the staff quietly dimming the wall sconces and clearing away the last of the auction tables.
