A year later, the sanctuary celebrated its first anniversary. The gardens had grown lush and vibrant, filled with the laughter of children and the peaceful conversations of families finding hope again.
Julian stood beside Elena, holding her hand as they watched the guests gather for the anniversary dinner. Beside them, Alexander chatted warmly with community leaders, looking happier and more relaxed than he had in decades.
Even Madam Sterling was there, sitting quietly in a corner, helping teach young children how to press flowers into art scrapbooks. Her face was softer, freed from the burden of pride.
