Chapter 6: A Boy’s Promise
Leo woke up and walked over, rubbing his eyes. He saw the glowing screen and his mother’s name written across the top of the files.
""Is Mom coming back?"" he asked quietly.
Sofia knelt down to his eye level and took his small hands in hers. ""Leo, your mother is the bravest person I know. She wanted to make the world safe for you. Now, it's my turn to bring her home.""

Sofia choked back a sob, touched by his innocence and resolve. She pinned both golden leaves to her jacket side by side.
