The sky deepened into a twilight canopy filled with endless stars. Down below, the lights of the town began to twinkle like distant diamonds—not the cold, haughty stones of the Vance ballroom, but the warm, flickering hearths of families living in peace.

Elena pulled a small velvet box from her pocket. Inside was not a corporate diamond bought with dirty money, but a simple, polished silver band hand-forged from recycled steel by the apprentices at 4th Street. She held it out to Julian under the starlight.

"Ten years ago, you walked into the fire for me without asking for a single thing in return," Elena said, her eyes shining with quiet tears of pure happiness. "Now I'm asking you to walk through the rest of this life with me. As partners. As equals. Forever."

Julian looked down at the silver ring, then up at the woman who had walked away from an empire of lies to stand in the rain with him. A tear slipped down his sun-tanned cheek as he nodded, slipping the ring onto his finger.

"Always," Julian whispered, pulling her into his arms as the night wind sang through the pines.

The scars on his arm would remain for the rest of his days, but they were no longer marks of tragedy. They were badges of honor—the permanent proof that when the world is consumed by greed and deceit, true love and human courage will always rise unbroken from the ash.
