Chapter 12

The silence in the boardroom was suffocating. Board members leaned away from Richard as if proximity to him were legally radioactive. Richard slowly closed the manila envelope, his hands shaking visibly now despite his best efforts to maintain his composure.
“This is a coup,” Richard whispered hoarsely, looking around the table at the blank, terrified faces of his associates. “You’re destroying fifty years of family legacy over a disgruntled employee and a routine custody dispute.”
“This isn't a family dispute, Richard. It’s a reckoning,” Julian said, his voice devoid of anger, carrying only the chilling weight of absolute justice. “You built an empire on the backs of broken families, silenced whistleblowers, and manipulated the courts. You thought you were untouchable because you owned the board, the lawyers, and the politicians. But you forgot one fundamental rule: greed always leaves a paper trail.”
One of the senior board members, a frail man who had served alongside Julian’s father for decades, cleared his throat nervously. “If these allegations are verified by the securities commission, the company’s stock will plummet before the opening bell on Wall Street. We have to take action immediately.”
“Action has already been taken,” Julian replied, not breaking eye contact with his uncle. “The federal regulators have frozen all corporate accounts tied to Richard’s shell companies. As of eight o’clock this morning, my emergency proxy voting block—combined with the shares inherited by Clara’s late husband—gives me fifty-one percent control of the voting shares.”
Richard stood up abruptly, knocking his leather chair backward against the glass wall with a resounding crash—a dark, ironic echo of Elena’s outburst the day before.
“You can’t do this!” Richard shouted, his voice cracking with sudden, uncontrolled rage. “I made this company! I made you!”
“You made nothing, Richard. You stole everything,” Julian said coldly.
Heavy double doors at the far end of the boardroom swung open. Two federal marshals in dark tactical vests stepped into the room, their expressions stone-cold. They walked directly toward Richard, ignoring the stunned gasps of the board members.

“Richard Vance?” the lead marshal asked, his voice flat and authoritative. “You are under arrest for federal wire fraud, securities manipulation, and conspiracy. You have the right to remain silent.”
Richard didn't resist. As the cold steel cuffs clicked around his wrists, he cast one final, venomous glare toward Julian. But Julian didn't flinch, didn't gloat, and didn't look away. He simply watched as his uncle was led out of the boardroom, closing the chapter on a dark era of family tyranny forever.
