The Unshakable Foundation

That evening, Helena walked through the open gates of the newly completed public park adjoining the development. Children were running across the green lawn, their laughter mingling with the gentle evening breeze coming off the harbor.
Sitting on a wooden bench near the fountain was Lily, drawing in a large sketchbook with colored pencils. The scratch on her forehead had completely vanished, leaving her skin smooth and clear.
"Look, Mommy," Lily said, holding up the drawing as Helena sat down beside her.
It was a sketch of a tall, beautiful brick house surrounded by sturdy oak trees, with deep roots drawn beneath the brown soil in bright green ink.
"Look at the roots," Lily pointed with her pencil. "I made them extra deep so the wind can never push it over."
Helena wrapped her arm around her daughter, pulling her close into a warm embrace. She looked out at the city skyline—no longer a collection of cold, towering monuments to pride, but a living community resting on honest ground.
