Chapter 10: Exposed

Gasps echoed through the room. Beatrice leaned into the microphone, shouting, "Cut the feed! Turn off the cameras!"
"You can't cut this feed, Beatrice," Victor said calmly, tossing a flash drive onto the media table. "Because the entire Genesis Tower archive, including your signed offshore transfers to the arsonists, was uploaded to the Department of Justice and thirty independent press servers ten minutes ago."
Reporters frantically checked their smartphones as incoming news alerts confirmed the release of hundreds of internal corporate documents.
Beatrice’s face drained of color. She glanced at the head of security, giving a subtle nod.
The security chief pulled a concealed weapon from his jacket, stepping toward Victor. But before he could raise the firearm, federal agents in windbreakers swarmed through the side exits, their weapons drawn.
"Federal Bureau of Investigation! Drop your weapons!"
Pandemonium erupted in the penthouse. Beatrice tried to retreat through the executive exit, but two federal agents intercepted her, snapping handcuffs onto her wrists.
As she was led past Victor, her polished facade completely shattered. "You fool!" she snarled. "You destroyed everything we built! You're going to prison too! You signed those initial financial reports!"
