Chapter 14

Victor moved with terrifying speed and precision. He slammed Julian against the mahogany desk, knocking the pistol from his hand with a sharp, brutal strike to the wrist. The gun clattered across the polished marble floor, sliding away into the shadows.

Julian gasped for air, his face crashing against the edge of the wood before Victor spun him around and pinned him against the wall with one muscular forearm pressed hard against his throat.

“Looking for someone, Julian?” Victor whispered, his voice vibrating with a lethal, controlled rage. The tattoos on his neck strained against his skin, and the gold watch gleamed under the bright chandelier light as he maintained an iron grip.

Julian struggled desperately, clawing at Victor’s forearm, his face turning purple. “You’re... you’re making a mistake, Victor,” Julian choked out, his arrogance completely evaporated. “The federal authorities... they have the files...”

“The federal authorities are currently raiding your offshore shell accounts as we speak,” Victor replied coldly, pressing his forearm harder against Julian’s windpipe. “You tried to destroy my family, you threatened my wife—sick as she is—and you dared to step foot near my son.”

Before Julian could answer, Marcus and two security operatives rushed into the room, securing the perimeter and picking up the dropped weapon.

Victor slowly released his grip, letting Julian slump forward onto the marble floor, gasping and coughing violently for air. Victor looked down at him with utter contempt, adjusting the cuffs of his shirt.

“You thought you could outsmart me in my own city,” Victor said, his voice echoing in the vast, silent room. “You underestimated every single person in this house—including the people you thought were beneath notice.”

Marcus stepped forward, cuffing Julian’s hands tightly behind his back. “The federal agents are waiting outside the gates, Mr. Sterling. He’s going away for a very long time.”

“Get him out of my sight,” Victor commanded, turning his back on the ruined man.

As Julian was dragged away through the double doors, kicking and shouting empty threats into the night air, the heavy silence of the estate returned—not as a threat, but as a peace finally earned through blood, truth, and unwavering resolve.
