Chapter 1

The expansive luxury living room stretched out in heavy, suffocating quiet, broken only by the sharp, piercing wails of an infant. Light filtered through towering arched windows, casting long, pale shadows across the pristine marble floor. At the center of this opulent space stood Victor Sterling, a tall, muscular man whose dark ink tattoos peeked menacingly from beneath the cuffs of his sharp black suit and crisp white shirt. His jaw was locked in a tight, furious line, and the heavy gold watch on his wrist caught the afternoon light as he flexed his hand into a hard, white-knuckled fist.
Kneeling on the cold marble nearby was Clara, the young domestic helper dressed in a powder-blue dress with a crisp white collar, wearing bright yellow cleaning gloves that now looked strangely out of place amid the unfolding drama. Her eyes were wide with genuine terror, tears streaming down her pale cheeks as she clasped her hands together in a desperate, pleading gesture. Beside her, Eleanor, a stunning blonde woman in an elegant dark red dress, knelt on the floor cradling the crying baby tightly against her chest. Ethan, the infant in the bright yellow outfit, continued to scream, his tiny face flushed with distress.
Clara’s voice cracked through the heavy air, desperate and breathless. “Please! Let go of my boy!” she cried, though her words were instantly challenged by the chaotic scene.
Eleanor looked up, her blue eyes wide with unmistakable panic. Her hands trembled as she pressed the infant closer, whispering anxiously, “Victor, it’s not what you think!”
Victor’s gaze dropped to the two women, his expression dark and utterly unforgiving. He had built his entire empire on absolute control, and within the walls of this estate, betrayal was the ultimate sin. Clara swallowed hard, her chest heaving as she pointed a gloved finger toward Eleanor. “She intentionally tried to break Ethan’s arm!” Clara sobbed, the accusation hanging heavily in the room like a physical blow.

Victor stared down at them, the silence stretching until it felt unbearable. He slowly raised his right arm, the heavy luxury watch ticking rhythmically against his pulse as his fingers curled into a tighter fist. His voice, when it finally broke the silence, was dangerously low and devoid of warmth. “Get away from my son,” he commanded sternly.
Clara flinched, pulling her hands back as the gravity of the confrontation settled over everyone present.
