Chapter 15

The morning sun broke fully through the autumn clouds, bathing the entire estate in a brilliant, golden warmth that signaled the true beginning of a new chapter. At the newly established Sterling-St. Jude Neurological Research Facility downtown, the grand opening plaque was polished and ready for unveiling. Etched into the brushed brass surface were the names of the lead researchers: Clara Sterling and Leo Vance.
Standing outside the facility beneath the bright American sky, Clara took a deep breath of the crisp, clean air, feeling the full, vibrant power of life coursing through her veins. The dark memories of the rainy cemetery and the light-colored casket covered in white roses had not vanished entirely, but they had been transformed from a terrifying tragedy into a testament of unbreakable human resolve.
"Are you ready for this?" Leo asked, turning to Clara with a reassuring smile as the first guests began to arrive for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Clara looked at him, then over at her parents, and finally up at the gleaming brass plaque bearing her name alongside the boy who had refused to let her slip away into the dark. She reached out, intertwining her fingers securely with his.

"I was ready the moment I woke up," Clara said, her voice clear, confident, and filled with absolute purpose. "Let's change the world."
With that, they walked forward together through the glass doors, leaving the shadows of the past behind them as the bright light of a new day guided their way forward.
