The coastal estate was gone, torn down and replaced by the *Thomas Vance Youth Center*—a rehabilitation and educational sanctuary for underprivileged children, funded entirely by the liquidated family trust.
The morning sun rose warm and golden over the Atlantic, casting long, peaceful shadows across the manicured lawns.
Julian stood at the edge of the cliff, where a sturdy oak-and-wrought-iron safety railing now protected visitors from the drop. He wore a simple white shirt and dark jeans, his face relaxed, the dark sunglasses nowhere in sight.
Beside him, Elena handed him a warm cup of coffee. "The first group of students arrives from the city tomorrow, Julian. Everything is ready."
"Thank you, Elena," Julian said, offering a genuine, serene smile. "For everything."
He looked out over the endless blue horizon. A week earlier, he had visited Vincent at the maximum-security correctional facility upstate. Vincent had aged twenty years behind bars, his spirit broken, but for the first time in their lives, they had spoken without lies, without masks, and without fear.
