Chapter 15 - The New Dawn and the Unbroken Legacy

The silence in the penthouse suite was absolute, broken only by the distant hum of the city waking up to a brand-new day outside the floor-to-ceiling glass windows.
Marcus stopped a few feet away, his warm smile remaining fixed even as my father slowly stepped in front of me with his fists clenched.
"It was you all along, Marcus," my father said, his voice cold and devoid of any lingering doubt.
"You were the one who leaked the internal server keys to Arthur three years ago."
Marcus chuckled softly, setting his laptop down on the mahogany table to reveal the active transfer screen completing its final percentage.
"Julian, you always were a brilliant founder, but you trusted loyalty over ambition," Marcus said calmly, showing no fear as federal agents outside the building began to surround the perimeter based on the silent alarm I had triggered seconds earlier.
"I built this security division from the ground up, and I watched you hand the keys of this empire to a waitress who couldn't even carry a tray without dropping it."
I stepped past my father, looking Marcus dead in the eye without a trace of fear or hesitation.
"That waitress traced your every move from the bottom up, Marcus," I replied, pressing the final execution button on my own console to freeze his accounts permanently.
Heavy tactical boots echoed down the private hallway as federal marshals poured into the penthouse, weapons drawn, pinning Marcus against the glass wall before he could reach his weapon.
As the cuffs clicked into place for the final time, Marcus was led away into the morning light, leaving the room quiet and still at last.

My father wrapped his arm around my shoulders, pulling my mother close as the three of us stood together watching the sunrise over the city skyline.
The shattered glass of the gala felt like a lifetime ago, and as I looked down at my hands, I knew the foundation—and our family—was finally safe, built on truth that could never be broken again.
