Chapter 15 - The Dawn of Truth

The ceiling reinforcement beams groaned as a massive section of the ventilation shaft broke loose, showering the control room in a cascade of dust and debris.
"Everyone out! Now!" Marcus yelled, bursting into the room just in time to help Sarah untie her remaining restraints.
They scrambled through the shattered doorway, racing down the corridor as emergency sprinklers hissed to life, drenching them in freezing water. They burst through the main security exit just as the first rays of the autumn sun broke through the stormy horizon, painting the sky in brilliant shades of gold and amber.
Outside the penitentiary gates, hundreds of supporters had gathered through the night, holding signs bearing Leo’s face and cheering wildly as Sarah stepped out into the fresh air, flanked by Marcus and her brave young son.

A reporter pushed forward through the barricade, thrusting a microphone toward him. "Leo! What do you have to say to the millions of people who helped save your mother?"
Leo looked directly into the camera lens, pausing for a quiet, natural breath. The restrained emotion of the past weeks melted away into a genuine, radiant smile.

"Thank you," Leo said softly, his voice carrying clearly across the quiet suburban morning. "My mommy is home. And the truth always wins."
Sarah pulled him close, kissing his forehead as Marcus wrapped his arm around them both. The screen faded slowly to black as the morning sun warmed the Oakridge Lane horizon, marking the end of a nightmare and the beginning of a brand new, unbreakable future.
