Chapter 11: The Eviction of the Serpent

Dawn broke over the grand estate, but the morning sun brought no warmth to Clara. She sat rigidly at the mahogany dining table in the formal dining room, staring blankly at the cold coffee cup before her. The house was deathly quiet, save for the ticking of the antique grandfather clock in the corner.
The heavy double doors of the dining room swung open. Julian walked in, flanked by two burly private security officers he had hired at 4:00 AM, alongside Thomas, who held a large cardboard box containing Clara’s personal belongings collected from her walk-in closet.
Clara snapped her head up, her eyes wide with indignation and fear. She stood up abruptly, her chair scraping loudly against the parquet floor. "What is the meaning of this? You can't just throw me out of my own home!" she shrieked, her voice lacking its previous authority, sounding instead like a cornered animal.
"This house was purchased with my family's trust fund, and every asset in your name has been frozen by court order as of two hours ago," Julian stated, his voice devoid of any emotion, cold as winter ice. He gestured to the security guards. "Pack whatever else she claims is hers from the guest suite upstairs, and escort her off the property immediately. If she attempts to return, have her arrested for trespassing."
"Julian, you can't do this to me! We're married! We share a life!" Clara screamed, lunging forward, but the two security guards stepped smoothly into her path, blocking her way with impassive professionalism.

"We shared a legal contract based on fraud and malice," Julian replied, not even flinching as Clara clawed at the air in hysterical rage. "Your lawyers will contact you regarding the criminal charges for elder abuse and financial embezzlement. Do not contact me again."
Thomas set the cardboard box down near the front entrance doors, stepping back immediately. Clara realized her frantic screaming was useless. The staff wouldn't look at her; the guards wouldn't budge; and Julian stood like a statue of absolute judgment. Defeated, her face twisted in pure venom, she grabbed the handles of her box and stormed out through the front doors, the heavy wood slamming shut behind her with a final, echoing crash.
