Toby sat at the dining table finishing his homework while Katherine stood by the large bay window of the study, watching the last rays of daylight catch the illuminated glass display case on the wall. Inside the case, the golden flower crown caught the dying light, its delicate metallic petals glowing with a warm, enduring radiance.
