The afternoon sun poured through the large arched windows of the Oakridge High library, illuminating the study tables in the exact same amber light as the day the journey began. The room was calm, filled with the quiet rustle of pages and the low hum of students studying for upcoming midterms. The panic and chaos of the past week had subsided, replaced by a profound sense of institutional and community renewal.

Maya stood at her usual study table, organizing her research folders and final project notes with her characteristic precision. She wore her white patterned long-sleeve blouse and clean black pants, her movements smooth, deliberate, and grounded. The centennial exhibition board stood proudly at the center of the table, now surrounded by notes from younger students who had left sticky-note comments thanking the creators for uncovering the real history of the town.
