“YOU’RE LUCKY I DIDN’T LEAVE YOU FOR SOMEONE YOUNGER”

The words came out during a dinner party at their home in the Hamptons.
Lucas Bennett, slightly drunk, said it loud enough for everyone at the long table to hear while looking at his wife, Sophia.
“You should be grateful I stayed, Soph. Most men would’ve traded you in for a newer model years ago.”
The entire table went quiet.
Sophia, 37, didn’t blink. She simply stood up, walked to the kitchen, and came back holding a bottle of expensive red wine — the one Lucas had been saving for a special occasion.
She walked straight to Lucas and poured the entire bottle over his head in front of all their friends.
Wine ran down his face, soaking his white shirt and the expensive tablecloth.
Before anyone could react, Sophia turned to the young woman sitting next to Lucas (his “work colleague”) and threw the empty bottle at her feet, making her scream and jump back.
Sophia looked at Lucas, who was wiping wine from his eyes.
“You’re right,” she said calmly. “I am lucky. Lucky that I finally see what a pathetic, arrogant man you are.”
She picked up her purse and walked toward the door.
As she reached it, she turned back one last time.

“By the way, I already filed for divorce this morning. And I took half of everything before you even woke up today.”
Then she walked out, leaving the entire dinner party in stunned silence.
