THE POST-NUP HE MADE HER SIGN WHILE CRYING

When Ava Sinclair discovered her husband’s affair, he didn’t apologize.
Instead, he and his lawyer presented her with a post-nuptial agreement that would leave her with almost nothing if she filed for divorce.
They sat in their home office in Chicago. Ava was crying quietly while her husband, Richard, and his lawyer pressured her to sign.
“Just sign it, Ava. It’s for your own good,” Richard said coldly.
Ava wiped her tears, picked up the pen… and then slammed the heavy crystal paperweight on the table so hard it cracked the glass.
Both men jumped.
She stood up slowly, walked around the desk, and slapped Richard across the face with all her strength.
“You want me to sign away my life while crying?” she said, voice shaking. “Fine. But you’re going to sign something too.”
She pulled out her phone and played a recording — Richard admitting on tape that he had been hiding assets and planning to leave her with nothing.
“I recorded every conversation we had in this room for the last month,” she said.
Then she looked at the lawyer.
“If you don’t want to lose your license, I suggest you leave my house right now.”
The lawyer quickly packed his things and left.

Ava turned back to Richard, who was holding his red cheek.
“Pack your bags,” she said. “You have one hour. After that, I’m calling the police and showing them everything.”
